What is a needs-based scholarship?

Needs-based (equity) scholarships are awarded to students who demonstrate that they are living in financial hardship and/or are from a low socio-economic background.

Socio-economic background is measured on a number of factors including level of education, high school attended, relocation from a regional area and living circumstances. Other circumstances that have an impact on your ability to study may also be considered, such as physical and mental health issues, family issues and large unexpected expenses.

Needs-based scholarships require documentation to be provided to support your situation, such as Centrelink statements, bank transactions and evidence of regional address.
