What does the word 'Qualifying' mean in the Master of Social Work (Qualifying) course title?

The word 'Qualifying' in our Master of Social Work title distinguishes our course as one which leads graduates to be qualified as Social Workers. Whilst some postgraduate courses in this field may offer only foundational knowledge, Curtin's Master of Social Work (Qualifying) offering contains mixed modes of delivery, including online, intensive blocks and several practical fieldwork components that upon completion, allow graduates to apply for membership to the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW).
