Does the recent news regarding international borders opening mean I can now come to Western Australia?

We know that the COVID-related travel restrictions have been particularly challenging for our students and we are very sorry for the difficulties this has created for you and your family.
You may have seen the news from 1 October 2021 that Australian states may be able to open to international travellers from November once vaccination targets have been met. It is too early for us to be sure when we might be able to welcome students from overseas back to Western Australia, but Curtin University, Study Perth and all other WA universities, are in constant communication with the WA State Government to help plan for the return of international students.

At this stage, only New South Wales has received the green light for a small number of international students to return each fortnight as part of a pilot program. However, we are hopeful that this scheme, if successful, will expand to other states very soon. We will communicate with you as soon as possible regarding your return to Perth. In the meantime please check the Department of Home Affairs websites frequently to find out the latest information regarding travel exemptions and restrictions. Should you wish to apply for travel exemptions in the meantime, please do so via Department of Home Affairs website.
