What is an eCAF?

Your electronic Commonwealth Assistance Form (eCAF) is an electronic version of the Request for Commonwealth Support and HECS-HELP form. All students enrolled in a Commonwealth supported place (CSP) are required to submit an eCAF to accept their place in their chosen course.

If you would like to access different types of HELP you may need to complete more than one eCAF.

After accepting your offer you must complete your eCAF to confirm your CSP even if you are paying your fees upfront. The form is available via eStudent in OASIS. A short demonstration video is available on the eStudent help website.

If you are choosing to defer your fee payments using HECS-HELP you will need to provide your tax file number on your eCAF.

Eligible New Zealand citizens will be required to submit supporting documentation to confirm their eligibility for a HELP loan.

Once you have submitted a valid eCAF, it will remain valid for the duration of your course. If you change courses, you will be required to submit a new eCAF for that course before the census date of the first study period of the new course.
